Last minute notification and update for tomorrow

Hi,

I am sorry for this late notification!
However, we consulted with the head of the department for the procedure to be followed for the exam tomorrow and we were told that it is against the rules if the students do not come in person on an exam date. The date is already published in the system of the University of Tirana and it is mandatory for students to be present.

See you tomorrow,

The last two assignments

Hi,

Regarding this week's assignment and the following one.

By the end of tomorrow you must have finished your report. Make sure that you have included all the necessary details and the relevant changes as you have all presented it and you have the feedback from all of us.
Once you have finished your report, you must send it for peer-reviewing, i.e. choose a friend from your group (not the one that you were a partner during the presentation) and send your report to be reviewed by this person.

Once the person has finished editing, commenting or suggesting (please make sure that you do the editing through track changes or by inserting comments) he/she should send it back so that the author can reflect the changes to produce a final copy to submit.

For these two last weeks I will create folders on the dropbox for you to upload your documents. Next week the person that will be getting assessed is the reviewer not the author. The author shall have the final assessment when the report is submitted.

The deadline for this week will not be Friday at 24:00 hrs but Saturday at 24:00 hrs, since some of you have been busy with the project.

The deadline for the peer review will be Thursday at 24:00hrs and the deadline for submitting the report we shall discuss together on Wednesday.

If you have any questions please feel free to write here as a comment.

Good luck with your report! I am sure you will keep up with the good work!

:-)

Notification for Wednesday's lecture with Professor Ogerta

Hi everyone!

It has been a while since I have not been in touch with you through this medium.

Firstly, congratulations to the groups who finished their presentations on Friday. I really enjoyed them and I appreciate your efforts.

Secondly, I have noticed that assignments are uploaded even when the deadline is over. Do not submit them on false hope that I will be taking them into consideration.

Thirdly, on Wednesday at 1 o'clock for Group A and at 2 o'clock for Group B, Professor Ogerta will conduct the lecture at Sidi Education (about 100 m from Stephan Centre, at Pazari i Ri) regarding the smart board.

The participation is mandatory as absences will be taken down. If you have other subjects please inform Professor Ogerta and she will notify your professors for that day.

In case you have any other questions, feel free to write to her on the Facebook page.

Have a nice week and hopefully it won't be raining any more.

See you soon and looking forward to your presentations!!

:-)

the sooner you pick a number, the sooner you will have the dates and time to prepare

Hi,

Please inform your friends to choose a number. There should be two groups for each number (one from Group A and one from Group B). There are still numbers available to pick. You should understand that it is about the presentation that you will have in two weeks time. So the sooner we finish with the lottery the sooner you will have the dates available so students who will be the first will have more time.
Please make sure you notify all groups to pick a number as soon as possible as the time flies ...

Thanks,

Lottery

Below you will find the numbers, which correspond to the dates for the presentation of your projects.

One member of the group please choose a number and comment by writing that number. To be fair I will publish also the dates and their respective numbers so you could see on which date was your number.
In case of an emergency or an already planned activity, you are more than welcome to change the dates provided that you find another group available to substitute you.

The numbers are as follows:

 68, 43, 2, 30, 77, 36, 92, 12, 54, 25, 40, 4

Please pick a number and write it as a comment, only one member of the group can do it.

Then I will upload the dates with the corresponding number so you can see on what date will your project be.

Good luck for those choosing to be the first :)

Regarding Deadlines

Starting from this week, (week 6) deadlines will be Friday 24:00 hrs.
You should all start preparing for your projects. The dates for project presentation will be 13, 20, 27 May and 3 June. There are 12 pairs for each group so there will 3 projects each week.
The dates will be randomly assigned. I will organise the lottery.
I will let you know about the lottery later this week so the first three groups will get started with their projects.
See you later!

Group B class roll

Group B students who is online and not present in class?
Please write a comment as we are doing the absence roll!!

Final Announcement for today

Hi,

Having read your comments, I decided that we will have class today at 2 o'clock at the lab as at 1 o'clock there is no use of meeting in a classroom without computers. Those students who think can do it better from home or they have already finished their online project, they do not have to come (as the purpose of this subject is to foster your autonomy), however, the deadline remains the same at 16:00 p.m today.

Group A read above and it applies to you as well. If you guys can also make it for 2 o'clock, as later on this afternoon there will be ELTA's conference and I do not want to interfere with their proceedings. Make sure the news is spread!!!

Students who have a laptop, can you please bring them with you? In case there is no internet we can go to the cafe and work there.

Coffees will be on me since you were waiting for me last Friday :)

See you at 2 o'clock, feel free to suggest and comment as I will be here all the time !!!!

Regarding tomorrow

Hi,

Another agenda regarding tomorrow. Professor Ogerta informed me that there is ELTA's conference being organised tomorrow at our faculty.

It is about teacher's development and there will be teachers from different regions of Albania and international speakers. If any of you is willing to participate in the conference, there will also be credit given to those students.

Could you please inform the other students from the other groups?

Since, I do not have enough responses regarding the assignment for Friday, I would assume that you'd prefer to meet in class and clarify things.

The topic of your project could be anything related to English teaching and it does not matter whether you choose the same topic. Language involves the same skills but the way teachers approach students and the techniques they might use are different.

See you tomorrow,

Further information

Hi everyone,

It has been a hectic time with all the developments in the context of academic elections.

Well, let's get back to business and catch up with the work.

The deadline for week 4 is already over and hopefully you have contributed to your class padlet with materials on Project Based Learning.

I have not checked it but I will certainly do in the upcoming days.

You should have continued with your blog post and comment even though I have not been "online" to keep up with all the posts and comments.

Regarding week 5 and the rest of the weeks. There are a few things that I would like to clarify and it is related to the final assignment and examination.

1. Firstly, I would like group B to pair up and write the pairs that they have created on a document and send it to me via email so I can upload it on the class website.
2. Grou A you have your pairs, I have uploaded the document under the Blog Roll of your group, so you can change it.
3. The pairs will start working on the final project. And all the upcoming weeks will guide you through that process. The project will be similar to what I showed you during the first lecture or you could check some of the previous years project.
4. Both groups can access the document on the website under the Final Project page 2016 and the "steps document" and there you will find more information about your project and the future assignments.
5. This week, which is week 5, you have to explore a website to learn how to create online projects. You will not only learn but you are required to create one. You can do this tiny project in the pairs that you are going to form or you already have formed. This can be any project different from the final one or why not an initial step towards your final assessment.
6. Under the Forms and Docs you can find the rubrics (the basis of your assessment). I advise you read those documents so you will know how you will be assessed and about what.

Group A, if I have forgotten anything, could you please add some more information for your friends of Group B regarding the final assignment and project?

To both groups: since this week's assignment is about an online task and we do not have enough computers to work in the classrooms, I was thinking to meet "online" on the respective hours and you could work on the task and "hand" it to me at the end of the class?? Or would you like to meet and work in the classroom?

Discuss it as a group, this is a decision that should be taken by the group not individuals and let me know. Each of you could have a saying as a comment to this message and I will listen to the majority and act accordingly.

Thank you and if you have any other question please feel free to comment and ask.

The deadline for this task for week 5 will be the respective classes for both groups, i.e. for Group B - 4.00 pm when we finish class and for Group A - 6.00 pm.

Have a nice evening and do not forget to go tomorrow and have your saying for your future decision makers.

See you soon!!1

One last thing!

Regarding the exercise generator homework, please list the website and the applications that you used for the exercise.
The same with the ABCD model, I would like to know what your read about them and where.
You could either give them as a "bibliography" or post the links or documents on the class padlet.

I am sorry but this is the only way that I can prove that your homework is authentic. Thank you!

P.S   To keep up with my posts, please follow my blog with the email option so you are notified anytime I post something new.

Keep up with the good work!

I read some of your blogs and I am glad to see that you have worked so hard to make those blogs look interesting and appealing.
I really liked some of the posts and comments. I urge that you continue and start using your blogs as platforms of discussion. A good start is half of the work done!

Do not forget to comment at least to one post of your friends each week and post your personal opinion about the whole experience.

Have a nice evening,

Questions raised!!

The reason of creating this platforms is to enhance student-teacher communication, which is often limited to the classroom time only under the traditional way of teaching.

I asked you last time to raise question or queries here on the blog as the others might have the same question or concerns or even problems. Rather than me answering each email individually let's be innovative and efficient and solve problem together rather than on individual basis.

Ada Shehu the ABCD model should not be based on the assignments of last year. I told you to look at those assignments if you feel lost. The ABCD model should be based on the research that you should do yourself and then write the objectives.

Online exercise generators are numerous on the web!! Search for them and create some of your own.

Esa - can you please provide your full name on the blog as I do not know who you are! Blog should be full name!!!

Those who cannot upload documents on the dropbox, I fixed the problem since last night so you can do it now. Follow the instructions!

Last thing to do add each other in the blogs, copy the addresses from the blog rolls and add blog so you can comment and others can answer your questions.

Please, be more attentive during the seminar when I explain things.

Fiorela (group B) I liked your blog but there is no place for comment so I could not write. Can you pls do sth about it!

Thank you,

Favour please!

Hi,

Can I please ask group B to change the title of their blog please into Group B Technology 2016, it will be easier for me to follow you?

Thank you!

P.S. Elda Reci can you copy again your Blogger address on the class roll as it was not the right one and I had to delete it.

As you know the week for the Blog roll assignment is closed so the following sts unfortunately did not get any points:
Andrin Shehu
Erisa Muca
Ismine Guma
Esjola Kola

Group A and Group B

Hi,

Hopefully you feel less overwhelmed today.

Well, I have already created the folders for the ABCD Model that you have to create. The folders are created on Dropbox and hopefully you have had experience with it. You can store your documents online and for those who have an iPhone, it is iCloud who does it for you, or you can choose other places online to store your documents and one of them can be Dropbox.

Under the page Forms and Docs at the class website, you will find two Folders for each group, just click View and the link will direct you to the dropbox, where I have created the respective folder for each assignment. Just drag and drop the file (drop - box) under the relevant week. Remember this assignment is for Week 3 so drop you work under this folder.

Group A you have now the subpage for your Blogroll, just click on the Page Blogroll and you will find your subpage there. Register your blogs there and start working with the ABCD model of objectives.

On the following link we have our class Padlet (iPad) where I have contributed with the first document about ABCD models, you're more than welcome to contribute there either with useful links or files that you have found about ABCD models. It is time collaborate and apply some of the Cooperative Principles. You can also write your name on the files or the links to get extra credit

Class Padlet

Do not forget to comment on your blogs for everything This week will be busy for us as we will have to do two assignments, however, the deadlines will be extended. The first assignment for the ABCD model the deadline will be Wednesday 24:00hrs.

The other assignment for this week is related to Project Based Learning (PBL) and I have already shared some documents on the Padlet with the same name. You can start with those and then contribute again with others, in oder to help each other. This assignment is not for you to create but for you to research and read about PBL so you are familiar with this concept and ready for your project. The only written work that you have to do for this assignment is the post on your blogs, which should be more developed.
You will also be asked to contribute with links or article or documents or examples that are related to PBL and do not forget to drop them on the dropbox under the relevant folder, i.e. Week 4. The deadline for this assignment will be Sunday 24:00hrs.

Good luck and if you have any questions just bring it up on the blog.

Enjoy the weekend and see you around (online),
Daniela

In order to write your blog addresses on the blog roll, I need all your email addresses so you can access and write on the website.
